obsessed with stripes forever and always

this post has been a loooong time coming. and i do mean long. i posted an inspiration board for this shoot like a million years ago here. and i was all like, you bring the awesome, i'll bring my camera.

well.

mallory and her husband sure do know how to bring the gosh darn freaking awesome. when she emailed me and attached a picture of herself and joshua, i was all, NUH. UH. and then, whaaa? and then, aight', let's do dis.

although i had some amazing responses from other folks who i am still sad to this day i did not get to shoot because of timing conflicts, i felt so lucky that such a beautiful and connected couple came a runnin' for the chance to let me work out my creative vision. i couldn't stop staring at them.

the best part?  you know the proverbial perfect good looking couple? the  pretty girl and the hip guy that everyone hates because they are so stylish together but have zero personality and the only thing they are actually good at is looking good which doesn't even qualify as a talent, but more as just a quality that makes the rest of us feel bad?

mallory and josh are soooo not like that!

they were the sweetest, most fun, down to earth people, and i was relieved because i do things like trip when i'm shooting and i um, sweat a lot, but guess what? they do those kind of things too. and together we had a fantastic fantastic time.

p.s. the famous and beloved becky earl tagged along at this shoot and you can catch some of her rad shots, along with some other eye candy here.

Lindzee and Javier Boise Engagement Session

why is it always so hard for me to know where to begin? lindzee and javier...these two are so beautiful, that's about to become realllllly apparent after a few more lines, when the photos start, but until then i was honored to photograph their wedding this past weekend. but, can i tell you a secret? i only got the gig because lindzee's BFF, crissie mcdowell who is also a photographer (a VERY gifted one)  and a friend of mine, couldn't shoot the wedding as she was the fancy maid of honor. so she was kind enough to point lindzee and javier in my direction.  crissie was the girl who shot lindzee and javier's REAL engagement session, you know, the one with the photo that goes out with the invitations? and you can see crissie's super rad blog of the session  here.

but because i couldn't bear to give up my two hours of shooting and getting to know the real javier and lindzee, before the big day, i forced them to go through the whole engagement shooting ordeal yet again with moi. we shot this just two weeks before the big day!  the light shone on us that evening like a gift from up above, and let's just say we laughed A LOT. i can't wait to share their wedding with you. and here's my second secret. you can see a little peak of it on cyndee of ashki photography's facebook page (why don't you give it a like while you're at it), who second shot for me that day.  you're gonna wanna take a peek as the wedding was incredible.

heiden and michelle in love in boise

these guys are in love, like the la la la la  looooooove you scream from the top of you lungs about it, l o v e. it was more than cool hanging out with them around boise's downtown. it was inspiring. and before you ask, YES, there is a meaning behind the salt and pepper shakers. heiden and michelle  go together just like that. they are not the same, not at all the same even, but together is where they belong.  man it makes me happy.

oh, and cool side story, i went to elementary school with heiden. we played basketball together in the fifth grade. these are important things to note. however, because michelle was the one who first contacted me, we didn't realize we knew each other until we were half way through our over the phone consult. i got to thinking...hmmm....heiden is kind of an unusual name....could it be?.....nahhh...and then,

me: okay wait, heiden, i have to ask, what's your last name?

heiden: uh....bliss....

me (super professional sounding): dude, i totallly know you. this is diana moore! (my maiden name)

and although i'm super sure you would like me to type out the rest of our conversation just the way i did above, i'll spare you the intrigue and just let you know that there was a lot of laughter, a little reminiscing, and a mutual feeling that this was meant to be. so they are salt and pepper. can i be a napkin or something? (bad joke, but its my blog and i'll bad joke if i wanna). =)
