i met this family in maui in an unexpected way, years ago when i only had one child and was pregnant with my second. not a lot of people know that i lived in hawaii for the better part of 3 years. my feeling for the akinaka's then was the same i have for them now; there is so much i have to learn from these people.
okay, okay things got a little out of order, and maybe i couldn't figure out how to fix it. humor me for a half hour because they love each other? i think you'll like it.
she wore her mother's wedding dress, he wore his father's wedding suit. this was a shoot done a few weeks before the actual wedding. when we had about an hour and a half less light than we had planned on. still, as they tend to do, things fell right into their perfectly off-beat place (their wedding post to follow).
